New Semester - Week 1's Lessons

New quarter, new semester, new start; let's get the job done. If you need help I will be here with Miss Howard who will be working with us this semester. You need a new three subject spiral notebook. If you have a new notebook before Friday 2/2 you can receive 50 extra credit points. It must be new and college rule paper that will last the whole semester.

1. Review Great Expectations Final and grade, write note home on printout of your grade (homework)
2. Do Vocab Lab 2 page 88-96 (homework)

Tuesday 1/30
1. Review Final
2. Review Vocab Lab 2
3. Do Unit 9 Vocabulary Part A and B (homework)

Wednesday 1/31
1. Review Unit 9 Vocab
2. See the end of Great Expectations
3. Do Unit 9 Vocab C and D (homework)

Thursday 2/1
1. Review homework
2. Pretest and Vocabulary Bingo
3. Read "O What Is That Sound" pages 138 - 145 (homework)

Friday 2/2
1. Unit 9 Vocabulary Test
2. Lecture: Objectives of Poetry Unit
3. Read and discuss poem "O What Is That Sound"
We will be working on poetry at the start of this quarter.
You will be putting a poetry notebook together.

FINALS 1/22 - 1/25 - 2007

Finals are finally here, and so is the end of your first semester at El Dorado. I will still be here at 7am if you have questions or problems.

Language Arts I Final

Part A - 50 Vocabulary words - Units 1-3
Part B - 50 Vocabulary words - Units 5-7
Part C - 40 Spelling words
Part D - 25 Idioms
Part E - 20 Literature terms
Part F - 65 Great Expectations questions
*********** Each question is worth three points each. The total is 750 points for your final, with 25 of those points being extra credit.

If you think you will need extra time you may start your test at 7:30 am.

Here we are in the last week before finals, make sure you are prepared. Please start reviewing all the spelling rules, vocabulary words (120), Great Expectations, and literary terms, plus your idioms (36). Good luck - remember luck favors the prepared.
