Tukey time is over - let's work to finish Great Expectations and not be turkeys, but super thinkers and writers. Remember your extra credit is due Monday before the warning bell or it is late. I am also still in class everyday at 7am, or at break.

Thanksgiving week 11/20 - 11/22

Let's have a great short week of school. There is a vacation extra credit project. First pick up from me "A Thanksgiving Fable" and read it aloud in a family gathering. After you read it aloud write a paragraph explaining the moral, and have a parents sign the paragraph stating that you read the fable aloud in a family gathering. This is due Monday 11/27.

The Burial at Thebes (EXTRA CREDIT)

For extra credit you can go and see the school play The Burial at Thebes.After seeing the play which is a version of Sophocles' Antigone that you will be reading next year, write a summary of the play, and staple your ticket to the summary. Make sure to describe the conflict of the play and characters involved. Type your summary MLA style. (from 50 to 100 points - your choice it can go into homework or test category) The Show dates are November 15 - 17 at 7:30 p.m. The running time is one hour with no intermission. See you there.

Aloha, we are starting a new quarter - let's get off to a great start. We are also starting "The National Honors Society Canned Food Drive" The drive is from 11/6 - 11/17, and the food is donated to needy families in the area. Finally we are starting to read and study Charles Dickens's Great Expectations
