Activites for week two 9/12 - 9/16 - 2011

I am glad you are in my class, and I enjoyed our week together last week. This week we want to get going and start working on our reading, vocabulary, and writing. Do you have all your materials for class (SSR book, spiral notebook)? Charles Schulz stated "Life is a ten-speed bike. Most of us have gears we never use." This year let's see if both you and I can use all our gears. Remember - I will always be here in the mornings.

3. Get Spiral Three Subject Notebook

Tuesday 9/13
1. Read and Discuss “15 Study Tricks…”
2. Set up Spiral Notebook
3. Read, See, and Discuss MLA Format
4. Retype “Your Own Poem” (homework)

Wednesday 9/14
1. Check Out Literature Book
2. Lecture: Literary Terms
3. Read “Plainswoman” Pages 8 – 19 (homework)
4. Study Prefixes –-- Test 9/21 (homework)

Thursday 9/15
1. All Steps of Your Poem Due
2. Finish and Review Lecture
3. Read and Discuss Short Story
4. Study Prefixes and Make Note Cards (homework)

Friday 9/16
1. Read, Discuss and Apply Literary Terms to “The Plainswoman”
2. Review Prefix Cards and Study for Prefix Test (homework)
3. You should have read 60 pages of your SSR Book.
